About...

Alexa and Avery were born into a musical family.  I have played bass with the Monster's of Rock, classic rock tribute band for over 20 years.  Kelly has been the leader of the Kelly Rae Band…. Orange County's premier country & pop band for over two decades. She's "a little bit country and I'm a little bit rock & roll". The girls were both "on stage" with Kelly even before they were born and have been attending our gigs ever since. They have grown up with a love for singing and performing. As if they would do anything else?

Starting in February 2015, I thought it would be fun and rewarding to write some songs for the girls so they could learn how it is done. The album consists of different genres of music because I wanted them to learn how to sing different styles. Kelly played a huge role in helping the girls with their vocal techniques and with the emotions of the songs. Our rescue dog “Sketch” added a whole new meaning to our lives and It didn’t take long to realize that making “Sketch” the theme for the album would be the perfect way to keep the kids interested in the whole thing.  As it turns out, the dogs’ personality and antics were the perfect theme for our songs.

I am so proud of the hard work that my daughters Alexa and Avery have put into this project! Once we got started, it was the girls enthusiasm for the project that kept me going. While tucking them in at night they would say, "I can't believe we are making our own CD, you're the best Dad in the world." Of course this really pushed me to get this done and have it be the best it could be. The CD was completely finished in June 2015, four months after we started. My reward was to see their faces light up the first time they heard the finished product. Alexa HAD to take one of the tracks in to perform it for her class, and Avery wanted to take a CD in to class for "share day".

None of this would have been possible without the genius work of Hal Ratliff, Mario Montes, Mick Taras, Daniel Blank and Paul Seaforth to bring the music to life. And the finishing touch of the CD cover goes to graphic artist Bob Page.

We hope you enjoy!
